It’s hard to believe it is our final show of 2022 on Sunday, December 18 —just in time for holiday shopping for Christmas and also the first day of Hanukkah! Celebrate the season with us while looking for wonderful music gifts! We are open from 9 am to 3 pm and admission and parking are always FREE!

Lots of exciting things from last month’s show! First we had a special treat of LIVE music from “Lonesome” Dave Fisher, his very talented son Gus (he’s only 12 and starting playing guitar only two years ago) on guitar, and his bass player Brad, with three mini-sets at 10 am 11 am, and 12 noon. (He also performs at the iconic The Horse You Came In On Saloon in Fell’s Point.) Dave plays “Real 1950s-Styled Rockabilly Music.” He also had some of his music, T-shirts, buttons, and stickers for sale.

Dave is not only talented but a really nice guy! He came from Colorado during the pandemic and they discovered a wonderful house in Baltimore. They love the weird, fun, and creative vibe of Baltimore and he says that everyone here is really friendly (we like to hear that!) Dave gives lessons at the School of Rock here and also teaches guitar, ukulele, and pre-school music classes at the Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School in Pikesville. He’s working on a recording project in December. We welcome him and his family and wish him all the best and success with his music here in Baltimore!

We also have our 2023 schedule available so pick up a flyer at the show!

Spring has finally arrived! Hop on over to our show on April 18!

Our fearless leaders, Janet and Frank!

Spring is finally here! Deals will be blooming at our next show, Sunday, April 18, at the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm. Admission is FREE and parking is FREE! This is our normal third weekend of the month since the spring holidays were early this year. We still have to wear our masks in compliance with the state law and safety for everyone. Please continue to MASK UP,  socially distance, and bring your own food and drink.

Last month’s show was AMAZING with such a great crowd all day long. It was also a wonderful opportunity to get some great photos as well of lots of the great finds at the show!
Yes that fuzzy creature holds 45s!

We had the opportunity to meet Lou Vlangas, who partners with our wonderful announcer, Derek Shaw at the Keystone Record Collectors show, the Pennsylvania Music Expo, every month (usually the weekend before the Arbutus show). Lou is the show coordinator, announcer and does the table reservations. At our show in March he showed up with a gem! The first 45 record every pressed, recorded by Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup – and it’s even color vinyl!

Lou, top left and his prize 45 record. A steal at $400!

Bring your “Presidents” to our Sunday, February 18th show and get some great music deals!

Join us this Sunday, February 18 at the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm. Admission is FREE! We also have great food on site, serving great breakfast and lunch! Fabulous deals and a wonderful variety of music-related items to be found!

We had a great turnout at our first show of 2018 in January! Janet was seen sporting the new Arbutus Record Show T-shirt (which you can purchase at the show) and her groovy record earrings. Janet and Frank also showed us that they are our favorite sweethearts, doing a little dancing to some tunes provided by our announcer extraordinaire, Derek Shaw.

February means love, celebrating our past presidents and it is also Black History Month. We found some wonderful music that celebrates the great contributions of African Americans to American music history – jazz, soul, blues and pop!  Represented are the great ladies of song, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horn and Billie Holiday; The Story of Jazz as written and narrated by celebrated author, Langston Hughes; albums by Sam Cooke, Etta James, and jazz greats Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie; 60s supergroup Sly and The Family Stone; and pop all-stars like Prince and the Jacksons on picture discs! Even a fun album by the “greatest” – boxer Cassisus Clay –  soon to be known as Muhammad Ali! So come on down and get your groove on this Sunday! See you there!

Come visit us Memorial Weekend for a special 4th Sunday show on May 28!

The show featured in The Washington Post and the return of beloved vendor

This month we have another special fourth Sunday show over Memorial Weekend on May 28th. Take a break from your holiday festivities – and remembrance of our brave fighting men and women – and join us at the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm. Admission is always FREE! We have food on site, serving great breakfast and lunch options. Come by and search for some special music items.

We have two pieces of great news! John Kelly wrote a great feature this week in The Washington Post, “At this Maryland vinyl fest, the wax will never wane” and you can view it here or on our Facebook page. It features two of our vendors Greg Greenstein and Tim Harris (he will be there!) Here are a couple of screen shots.

Our second piece of news…after a long absence, a very much missed vendor and all around nice guy will be returning to the show. We were so delighted to see him at last month’s show and thrilled that he will be here this Sunday. Stop by and visit Al Ercolani at his booth to welcome him back.

Spring has sprung! Come to our special 4th Sunday show on April 23!

It was a great show last month as we celebrated the very special 25th anniversary of one of our beloved vendors, Jack Supplee. Along with some other longtime vendors, Janet brought out all the stops with cake and libations to share with everyone. We feared Jack would retire but he is not going anywhere. Though he will have less tables, we are delighted that he will continue to participate in the Arbutus Record Show!

After a late winter blast, we are back this Sunday, March 19 to the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm. Admission is always FREE! We also have food on site, serving great breakfast and lunch options. Come by and say hello to Jack and all the other great people at the show!

Spring in February! Join us this Sunday, February 19 for a great show and a special anniversary!

Can it really be February! Enjoy this warm weather and come out this Sunday, February 19 to the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm. Admission is always FREE! We also have food on site, serving great breakfast and lunch options.

We are also celebrating a very special anniversary of one of our beloved vendors. Jack Supplee has been participating in the Arbutus Record Show for 25 years, bringing every kind of music you can think of including the unusual and hard to find – and at reasonable prices. In 25 years he missed only one show. Amazing! Rumor has it he could be retiring – say it isn’t so Jack! So come by to say hello to Jack – and for a big surprise!

Join us for our first show of the New Year – this Sunday, January 15!

happy_new_year_006

Start the new year with music! We hope you had a great holiday season! December show was a great success as people found treasures and gifts for their favorite music lovers. Our great vendors return this Sunday, January 15 at the Arbutus Fire Hall from 9 am – 3 pm and admission is always FREE! We also have food on site, serving great breakfast and lunch options.

2017 promises to be another wonderful year for the Arbutus Record and CD show! There are so many fabulous music-related items to be found – books, ephemera, posters, buttons, trading cards, T-shirts, DVDs and more! Here is another reminder of all the  shows coming up in 2017! This year we have TWO shows on the 4th Sunday of the month, April and May, so make note of that on your calendars.

Since our February show will be after Valentine’s Day, it is not to early to think about something special for your sweetheart. Love songs are the basis of most of our music history. What is your favorite love song? In honor of the great Tony Bennett who just celebrated his 90th birthday and still has the pipes, here is a classic, “The Shadow of Your Smile:”

Ho! Ho! Ho! Join us for the last show of 2016 and come by this Sunday, December 18 and shop for those last minute gifts!

In honor of a great music legend, David Bowie, who we lost too soon this past year, among so many, we thought this would be fitting for the season. Two great music legends on opposite sides of the music spectrum performed this memorable duet in 1977. Bing Crosby & David Bowie – Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy.

Hard to believe another holiday season is upon us! Shake the cold and join us this Sunday, December 20 for our last show of 2016!  This is the final chance to get that special gift for your favorite music-lover – or even a special something for yourself.  You can find great bargains and treasures from 9 am to 3 pm. Admission is always free and breakfast and lunch are available for purchase.

Thank you and blessings from our family to all of our vendors and buyers this holiday season. We look forward to seeing you in the new year!

We scoped out some pretty cool Christmas-themed music items last month and we are sure there will be tons more this Sunday! Here is just a sampling:
